MLK Day Luncheon
This year's annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Luncheonwas sponsored by The Greater Pontiac Community Coalition, Michigan Works, The Oakland Press and POH Regional Medical Center. It was held on Monday January 17, 2011 at St. George’s Cultural Center in Bloomfield, MI. The theme for this year’s event was Redirecting The Dream to Jobs, Education, Respect, Civility and Involvement.
Approximately 200 people were in attendance including U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow, U. S. Congressman Gary Peters, State Representative Tim Melton, the Honorable Mayor of the City of Pontiac Leon Jukowski and Commissioner Tim Greimel. There were also many other dignitaries and citizens who attended. Our Keynote Speaker was Joyce McCain, author & descendent of Senator John McCain.
