Youth In Government
Youth In Government is a program designed to afford the students from Pontiac in grade 6 through 12 the opportunity to be educated and gain knowledge and understanding of government and career. Students had the opportunity to visit over 15 sites throughout a 2 month time frame. The students learned the daily operations of each site and learned the various positions within the companies.
This year over 400 students participated and the participating schools were Pontiac High, Pontiac Middle School and Pontiac IB Technical.
Students visited Oakland County Commissioners Office, Oakland County Sheriff Department, Pontiac School District, Oakland County Circuit Courthouse, 50th District Courthouse, Fanuc Robotics, Oakland Community College, Oakland Schools Technical Northeast Campus, and Cranbrook Institute of Science,
